My name is Sue Carter and I studied music at Birmingham School of Music (now known as the Conservatoire) during the late 1970's, taking violin, performing and teaching. I have taught violin, piano, clarinet and keyboards for over 30 years and teach up to diploma standard on all but keyboards. I have taught all ages both in schools and privately.

On a practical level I have performed in various orchestras and I am currently participating in a trio. I am also M.D. of The Friendship Singers which is a choir for the over 50's.

Learning and playing a musical instrument promotes self discipline, hand-eye co-ordination skills and improves concentration. Practice develops good posture and self esteem with great feelings of achievement. Social skills are developed by being part of a group and working within that group. Music is a joyful skill to acquire.
